Santa Ponsa

The resort of Santa Ponsa is found on the south west coast of Majorca approx 30km from the islands capital and airport in Palma. Great family resort and also popular with golfers due to the proximity of the variety of courses. The main beach is reasonably large and has the usual variety of water sports available for hire. This resort is popular with both tourists and locals and does become crowded in high season. A further smaller beach, set in its own sheltered cove, is approx a 15 minute walk away. The southern headland is home to the nautical club and nearby is the historic stone cross which commemorates the landing in 1229 of King Jaime of Aragon. The resort has a selection of shops and despite its size a surprising range of restaurants catering for all tastes. A weekly market on Monday morning in the Calvia area is worth a visit. Golfers will find the nearby course of Santa Ponsa and Poniete a welcome distraction. There are summer frequent bus links to Palma
