An authentic regional town first and foremost and also a quiet family resort with limited entertainment and excellent sea views. The harbour is one of the most sheltered ports on Mallorca's east coast. There is a small sandy beach. Many tourist buses pass through Porto Cristo on their way to the famous caves of Drac which contain one of the largest subterranean lakes in the world. The caves are situated across the river approximately 15 minutes walk along the coastal road.
